D.I.D type 219 chains are particularly well suited to 100cc type kart transmissions, with small engine sprockets and high rotation speeds. The resistance to jerks due to the braking-acceleration alternation is also an advantage. Technically,

the DID Gold & Black chain, like the Gold & Gold chain, is a so-called "socket" chain, each joint, also called "links", consisting of an axle and a fixed socket on which come s directly engage the teeth of the pinion and the crown.

All joints are held tightly together by the link plates. Each plate includes 2 links; it is therefore easy to know the number of links in your chain.

The DID Black & Gold chain is distinguished by two different plate qualities: black treatment for the link plates in contact with the transmission teeth, gold treatment for the outer plates.

This mix of materials gives the DID Black & Gold chain great freedom of movement on each link, thus minimizing friction to prevent any loss of engine power. This great "flexibility" on a new chain implies particularly careful assembly both in terms of alignment and tension.
