TheRocket axis M10x120 mm (often called direction pivot screw or kingpin) is a structural safety piece of origin manufacturer (Original CRG Racing). This axis passes through the camber / hunting rings (eccentric) and the body of the rocket to rigidly bind the front train to the fasteners of the chassis tube CRG.

Machined in a very high elastic boundary chrome-molybdenum steel, this axis undergoes a specific heat treatment to withstand the shear and violent shock stresses inflicted by the passages on high speed vibrators. Its precise dimensions - M10 thread for total length under 120 mm - guarantee a perfect guidance without parasitic functional game, thus ensuring an absolute directional precision and a surgical feedback in the steering wheel.

- 3. Tip in Michel (the corner of the expert)

* "Hi the cord's bites! The rocket axis M10x120 is the spine of your front train. It is he who cash all the lateral load in the quick turns. If you take a vibrator a little too strong or you have a Small contact wheel against wheel on the track, this axis can bend some fractions of millimeter. Visually it does not necessarily see the naked eye, but your front train geometry (parallelism, hunting, crooking) is completely distorted and the Kart becomes misconduct on one side.

My trick of old mechanics for assembly and control: the axis must slip by hand !

When you go up your train before, after switching off your eccentric and your pile washers, the 120 mm axis must be able to cross the set from top down without you needing to tap it with a hammer. If it stuck is that your chassis turntables are twisted or your rocket has a shot.

Before insertion, apply a thin layer of universal grease or lithium grease to the smooth body of the axis to avoid premature wear of the rocket internal rings and prevent moisture from blocking everything. Side Tightening: Always use a NIYSTOP NEW NYLSTOP NUT NUT and do not tighten as a deaf. The rocket must rotate from left to right in a totally free way, without any hard point. A free train is the assurance of a kart that fit for the millimeter in the Pif-Paf! "*

- 4. The replacement guide: step by step

1.Dimoning and putting on holds:5 min.

Put the kart on his carriage. Remove the front wheel concerned as well as the hub. Unscrew the Nylstop nut located at the lower base of the rocket axis to be replaced.

2.Extraction and inspection:10 min.

Disconnect the steering rod connected to the rocket. Take out the old axis of 10x120 mm pulling it from the top (if necessary, tap gently below with a bronze jet or a plastic mallet). Remove the rocket by identifying the order of the height adjustment washers.

3.Preparation of the front train:5 min.

Clean the bore of the rocket and the interior of the eccentrics to the brake cleaner. Take your original axis of origin CRG and, in accordance with the trick in Michel, coat its smooth part of a slight grease film.

4.Remontage and freedom setting:10 min.

Reposition the rocket with its height washers between the chassis tees. Thread the axis M10x120 mm straight from the top. Screw a new Nylstop nut at the base. Adjust the tightening to eliminate vertical play while maintaining total direction pivot freedom. Reconnect the rod and reassemble the wheel.

❓ 5. FAQ SEO (Frequently Asked Questions)

Q: Is this M10x120 mm axis delivered with its lock nut and height washers ?

A: Not. This article includes only the original metal axis CRG (Naked screw), according to the manufacturer's nomenclature. Nylstop M10 nuts, plate adjustment washers and croken eccentric systems are sold separately on our site.

Q: How to know certainly if my current rocket axis is veiled ?

A: The simplest method is to disassemble the axis and roll it on a perfectly flat surface (such as a glass window or a workshop marble). If the axis "box" or a latch of light passes under the body of the screw during rotation, it is twisted and must be immediately replaced.

Q: Does this 120 mm axis adapt on MiniKart / Cadet / Minimal Karts ?

A: Generally no. Children's karting chassis (Minikart or Mini 60) use shorter and often lower rocket axes (M8). This 120 mm long diameter M10 model is standardized for the range of adult chassis (senior categories, Master, Rotax, X30, ok and kz).
