Belt Transmission Toric Water Pump – High Resistance

This large diameter O-ring is specially designed to ensure the sealing and transmission of external water pumps (Elto or Righetti type) driven by the rear shaft of the kart. With its thickness of 5 mmIt offers superior robustness to withstand rotational stresses and temperature variations in the cooling system.

Specifications Technical:

  • Outer diameter: 115 mm.

  • Thickness (Corde): 5 mm.

  • Material: High density elastomer (EPDM/Nitrile) resistant to coolant and heat.

  • Compatibility: Universal for standard karting water pumps and shaft pulley throats.

The Council of Michel (Magickart): Life insurance for your engine

"Many pilots neglect this joint with a few euros, while it is he who avoids overheating! My expert advice: a water pump O-ring must never be 'dry'. Heat and limestone end up cracking it. If it breaks in the middle of the race, your pump stops and it is the engine clamping assured in less than one lap.

The essentials with your pump joint:

  • Rear shaft pulley: Check that your pulley throat is not marked or sharp, which would cut the new joint.

  • Cooling liquid Lexoil : To avoid internal corrosion that could hit the pump turbine.

  • Stainless steel clamps: Take advantage to secure your cooling hoses.

A little pro secret: For a perfect installation, clean the pump throat well. If the joint is a little hard to put in place, pass a small fillet of silicone grease (and nothing else!). This will help him position himself without twisting. At Magickart, you are advised to always have one of its spares on your kart frame, ready to be installed in case of emergency!"

Tuto: Joint Maintenance and Assembly

  1. Inspection: Before mounting, stretch the joint slightly between your fingers to verify the absence of micro-cracks.

  2. Cleaning: Make sure that the pump and pulley seats are free from debris or gum projections.

  3. Alignment: Check that the water pump is well aligned with the rear shaft pulley. A bad alignment creates a lateral tension that uses it prematurely.

  4. Compression: Once installed, the joint must have a slight tension. If it floats, it will skate; If he's too tense, he'll force the pump bearings.
