Zamp Z-20 Shield Replacement Instructions

NOTE: It is important NOT to USE power tools or over-tighten screws when changing shields.

Step 1: Lay a towel on a flat surface and place the helmet on it.

Step 2: Remove the shield pivot turnbuckles on each side. This is the smallest screw on the sides of the shield.

Step 3: Remove the shield pivot screws on each side. This is the largest screw on the side of the shield. For best results, we suggest you use a quarter to loosen/tighten this.

Step 4: Remove the shield. We suggest you use a cloth towel to wipe the rubber gasket and the area where the visor mounts to the helmet for best results.

Step 5: Place the shield on the helmet. There are two white washers between the visor and the helmet, so make sure they're in place before reinstalling the visor.

Step 6: Hand-tighten the shield pivots (larger screw) to hold the shield in place. Once hand-tightened, use a coin to tighten them until they fit snugly against the helmet shell. Do not overtighten.

Step 7: Thread on the shield pivot tensioners by hand, then tighten to the desired tension for shield movement.
