The column bearing (Often called column football) is the room that allows your steering column to pivot freely on the chassis. A bearing in perfect condition is crucial for the precision of the front train: it must absorb the vibrations while offering a rotation without any resistance.
Whether you ride on a historic chassis or a last generation frame, we offer the two standards of the market to fit your equipment perfectly.
The Uniball ball of 10 mm is the element that ensures the pivot connection between your steering column and the links. On the modern chassis, and specifically on the Birelart range from 2025This part has been optimized to provide increased directional accuracy and superior resistance to turn side stresses.
Made of high strength steel with a precision ball cage, it allows a perfectly free movement of the direction, which is essential to feel the smallest reactions of the front train.
This fixing ring, also called column stop, is designed for the steering columns with a diameter of 20 mm. It allows to block the column in height and to avoid any excessive vertical game that could affect the precision of the pilotage.
