Full description: Why is quality vital?

A stud is not a simple screw; It is the guarantor of your engine tightness:

  1. Compression stability: By maintaining a constant pressure on the base gasket, it avoids gas leaks and power losses.

  2. High resistance steel: Unlike standard threaded rods, this stud is treated not to lie under the effect of heat and repeated explosions in the combustion chamber.

  3. Precision thread: The 20 mm portion ensures maximum plug in the aluminum of the housing, minimizing the risk of tearing from the nets.

  4. Technical compliance: Party-building room, it respects the exact dimensions for passing the cooling ducts and the cylinder alignment.

💡 Michel's trick

"The stud is the spine of your engine! My old mechanical board: when you go back to the crankcase, uses Strong net brake (Loctite red) So that they do not come with the nut at the next disassembly. And above all, respects the tightening torque of the cylinder head: 24 nm, no more, no less! If you're going too hard, you'll stretch the stud or worse, distort your cylinder. If a stud is twisted or if the thread is tired ', does not play with fire, change it. A loose stud in the race, and it's the complete engine that ends up with the trash! "

🎓 Tuto: assembly and recommendations

  1. Cleaning the wells: Before inserting the new stud, clean the thread in the housing with the brake cleaner and dry to the blower.

  2. Nut / counter-nut method: To screw the stud into the housing without damaging the upper thread, use the technique of the nut and lock lock blocked against each other.

  3. Depth of taking: Make sure the 20 mm portion is fully engaged in the engine crankcase.

  4. VERIFICATION OF PLAINITY: Once the four studs are placed, check that they are perfectly perpendicular to the housing seal plane.
