"Michel, our technical expert, recommends: Commissioning is a critical step for the lifespan of your lead-acid battery. Fill the battery with the supplied acid, leave it to rest with the caps open for at least 30 minutes so the plates can absorb the acid, then perform a slow charge (ideally with an automatic charger such as an OptiMate) until the voltage stabilizes at around 12.8V–13V. Never use a fast charger. For winter storage, maintain the charge with a trickle charger to prevent sulfation."
