Description et Contenu du Kit

The kit is delivered complet to equip a set of wheels (2 front rims and 2 rear rims, or 4 rims depending on the mounting type.) It includes:

• Nombre de vis: 12 vis de gripster (Quantity adapted to generally equip 3 screws per rim, standard Birel/Freeline.)

📖 La Petite Histoire : Pourquoi utiliser des Gripsters ?

En karting, the lateral and longitudinal forces are enormous. During hard acceleration out of a corner, the tire, that adheres to the track, tends to want to stay in place while the rim, powered by the engine, turns. This phenomenon creates a significant shear force at the tire bead.

Without a gripster, le pneu peut « tourner » sur la jante. Not only does this cause a loss of acceleration, mais surtout, this can lead to a sudden loss of pressure, the tire potentially separating from the rim bead.

"Michel, our equipment expert, recommends: When fitting new tires, make sure the rim lock screws are completely loosened (flush with the rim) before seating the tire bead. Once the tire is in place, hand-tighten the rim locks using the tool provided until the screw head is in contact with the tire bead, then give it one final quarter turn. Do not tighten them like a wheel nut—just enough to secure the tire. Remember to check the condition of the seals whenever you change a tire; cracked seals will cause a loss of pressure.

⚠️ Conseil de sécurité: Loose gripsters can damage the tire bead and cause a slow leak. Un serrage excessif pourrait, in the long term, crack the rim around the bolt hole. Follow your mechanic’s recommendations.
