The Anti-vibration gum Rotax (Often called rubber or silent block washer) is the buffer element between the radiator fastening tabs and the engine support or the chassis. Without this part, the high frequency vibrations of the motor are transmitted directly to the radiator aluminum, causing irreparable cracks.
Shock absorption: High density rubber absorbs micro-vibrations and jerks during the vibrator.
Flexibility of assembly: Allows the radiator to "move" very slightly, thus avoiding the mechanical stresses on the welds of the beams.
Sustainability: Material Resistant to Water, Fuel and Temperature Variations Under the engine cover.

Mounting "Sandwich": The correct assembly generally requires two gums by attachment point (one on each side of the radiator tab) for total insulation.
Moderate tightening: Do not tighten the bottom nut until the rubber completely crush. The silent block must remain slightly elastic to play its shock absorber role.
Visual control: Inspect these gums with each revision. If the rubber is cracked, dry or spluffed, replace it immediately.
"A radiator pierced because of a vibration, it is a spoiled session and an invoice. The trick: If your silent blocks are too old, they become hard as stone and do not use anything anymore. My Pro Council: When mounting, spend a small silicone spray shot on the gum. This prevents the rubber from sticking to the metal and extends its life to the UV and the heat heat! "
Q: How many gums should be for a complete radiator? A: Generally, a standard mounting uses 4 gums (2 at the top, 2 down) to ensure a perfect suspension of the radiator.
Q: Are these gums the same for DD2 radiators? A: Yes, the silent radiator blocks Rotax Are universal for the entire range 125 max, including the DD2 model.
Q: Can we replace them with simple steel washers? A: Especially not! The steel would transmit all the vibrations directly to the radiator, which would lead to a leak at the attachment legs in a few rounds only.
