The Leatt-Brace™ MOTO KART is designed for use in all Go-Kart and Karting applications. The brace has been developed to help prevent:

• Hyperextension: extreme forward movement of the head
• Hyperextension: extreme backward movement of the head
• Lateral hyperextension: head movement to the extreme side
• Axial loading: compression of the spine due to the effect of the force on the helmet

• Posterior hypertranslation: backward movement of the head/helmet on the neck.
  
  There is currently no other neck protection system available to riders that can effectively help prevent all of the above injury risks. The design rationale behind the Leatt-Brace(R) is to bring the head to a controlled stop. This is achieved by providing a rigid, padded structure that acts as an alternate loading path for neck forces. Helmet impacts otherwise transmitted from the helmet to the skull and then to the neck are redirected by the helmet to the brace to other body structures safely using alternate load path technology.

  The design of the Leatt-Brace(R) prevents the helmet/head from projecting onto the brace and therefore prevents a fulcrum action, which has been documented in the literature relating to the use of collar devices. Leatt-Brace(R) MOTO KART works with most types of armor and chest protection.
  
  Leatt-Brace(R) MOTO KART is compatible with all types of motorcycle helmets and our design allows users an adequate range of movement. Leatt-Brace(R) MOTO KART is designed for all levels of competition and leisure karting. The Leatt-Brace(R) has been tested by BMW Munich, KTM works racers, the AIAL (South African Bureau of Standards). It is also approved by MSA (Motorsport South Africa).
