The 19 plastic tooth drive pinion is a safety and central transmission part for engines Rotax FR125 Max (Senior, Junior, Master). Located behind the clutch, it provides the connection between the crankshaft and the pinions of the water pump and oil pump.
Its high density plastic design is no coincidence: it serves as a mechanical "fusible". In case of internal locking (water pump or debris), the pinion breaks to protect the internal components of the engine, thus avoiding much more costly damage.
