Full description: what is the purpose of this piece?

This screw is not a standard DIY screw, it meets strict mechanical requirements for the competition:

  1. Maintenance of compression: By applying a vertical clamping force, it plate the cylinder against the base seal. It is this pressure that guarantees the perfect sealing of the pre-compression chamber.

  2. Shear resistance: On the DD2, the reports of reports create mechanical jerks. This high-class resistance steel screw supports these constraints without stretching or breaking.

  3. Thermal conductivity: Its design makes it possible to support the dilatation cycles of the aluminum cylinder without losing its tightening voltage.

  4. Precision machining: The thread is calibrated to provide maximum intake in motor housings, thus avoiding tearing from the nets during frequent montages and disassemblies.

💡 Michel's trick

"Caution The guys, the screw of 30mm, it's the survival of your crankcase thread! If you use a screw too short, you will tear down the low engine nets. If it is too long, it will go down to the bottom and you will not squeeze at all. My advice: Always check the status of the threads of the screw # 22 before reassemble. If the thread is 'marked' or shiny, change it. A motor housing is more expensive than a new screw!"

🎓 Tuto: Tightening and assembly

  1. Preparation: Clean the screw well in the housing with a blow gun to remove oil or filth residues.

  2. The editing order: First insert the stop washer (N ° 21) on the screw, then pass the set in the cylinder ear.

  3. Tightening to the couple: Screw by hand until contact, then use a torque wrench. The recommended torque for these M8 screws is 24 nm.

  4. Verification: A well-mounted screw must not show manual screw resistance. If it strengthened before touching the cylinder, clean the thread or replace the screw.
