5x5 sprinkler drive sprocket origin Rotax

The Pion 5x5 is a small cylindrical precision piece that lodges between the bell and the pinion. Its function is to transmit the torque from the engine to the chain in a direct and secure way.

Why is the precision of the 5x5 is important?

  • Perfect fit: Its exact dimensions (5 mm in diameter, 5 mm height) allow to delete any radial game between the pinion and its support.

  • Shock resistance: Made in high quality soaked steel, it does not crush under the huge pressure exerted during departures and reminders.

  • Indispensable: A transmission without a pawn (or with a used pawn) may break the fixing screws or irretrievably damage the clutch hub.

Compatibility:

  • Rotax 125 max (senior, master, junior, mini, microphone).

  • Compatible with all clutch bells Rotax standards.

💡 Michel's Tip (Magickart):

"It's the ghost room of karting: we do not see it, but if it misses, we do not take off the grid!

My Pro Council: During each pinion change, check that the pawn is not 'marked' or deformed. A pawn that has game will finish with shearing your gear screws.

The secret: Always put a micro drop of thick fat at the bottom of the home of the pawn. It helps him stay in place while you go back the pinion, it avoids that it does not fall on the ground when you do not look! "

🛠️ Tuto: How to mount your pinion pawn?

  1. Cleaning: Clean the blind hole perfectly on the clutch (or hub) bell. There must not be debris.

  2. Insertion: Place the 5x5 pawn in its home. It must exceed in half to fit into the pinion notch.

  3. Alignment: Present the pinion on the hub aligning the pinion slot with the pawn.

  4. Assembly: Plate the pinion. If it does not perfectly plate against the bell, it is because the pawn is not well aligned.

  5. Screwing: Once the pinion is switched on the pawn, put your BTR M6x12 screws (with a little net brake) and tighten.

That's good for this little pawn? Do you want to look at another transmission piece or go to the engine?
