The history and usefulness of the product (track side)

In a karting kart engine, the gearbox is subjected to harsh test and naturally generates microscopic wear residues by friction of the gears. The magnetic plug plays a role as a sentry: capturing these metal particles as soon as they cross the crankcase, it prevents that they recirculate in the pinnoy and offers you a valuable indicator on the internal state of health of your box during the darling.

The mounting tuto (step by step)

To install or replace your magnetic oil cap:

  • Drainage: Purge the old hot engine oil oil with the lower orifice.

  • Cleaning: Carefully clean the thread of the housing and wipe the cap magnet to rid it possible from any accumulated metal deposits.

  • Seal: Make sure you use a new crush seal (copper or aluminum) to ensure perfect sealing.

  • Tightening: Screw the plug into the hand to start the thread, then block it moderately to the recommended torque to prevent damage to aluminum housing.

Michel's Tip (Paddock Expert Council)

"With each box emptying on your TM KZ, carefully examine the quantity and size of the rases pasted on the magnet of your cap. A thin gray film is quite normal, but the presence of small metal chips must alert you on an abnormal wear of a gear or a box fork! "

FAQ SEO (Frequently Asked Questions)

  • Q: What exact location is going up this plug on the exploded view?

    • A: On the technical scheme of the clutch and the crankcase of the TM KZ engines (in particular the R3), this component corresponds precisely to the Mark number 24.

  • Q: Why is a magnetic plug indispensable?

    • A: It can hold the metal particles suspended in the oil to prevent them from infiltrating between moving parts and does not accelerate the wear of the transmission.

  • Q: Should you change the seal with each tightening of the cap?

    • A: Yes, it is strongly recommended to use a new seal with each disassembly to ensure the absolute seal of the housing and avoid any oozing on the track.
